Those Windy Nook berms were well funny always covered in big lumps of dolly I seem to remember the fastest line was to stick to the tyres on the inside  ;D

Good pics JP  :daumenhoch:

you're right Andy, was always best to stick to the inside... I remember Scarborough track being the worst for big lumps of dolly... fast downhill and lumpy as fook.

I've asked my mum to dig out some more pics as I don't have them down here.
Was talking with my dad last night and he remebers you well along with Gladis, Clarts, Nelly, Dave Young, Paul Grey, jay parker (my dad remembers him as The Flying Snot), Flash etc. brought back a few memories last night on the phone.

Next pic is not really old school but another I have down here, me in the woods in Low Fell, Summer of 96 on my Schwinn. All around gateshead tracks bar Powder Monkey at that time were pretty unrideable. I've had BMX after BMX from the age of 11... I can still be seen around the City of London on one now.

Nige Hutton racing at Teeside.

The GT rider is John Knotman. Rumour has it that Nige was a proper dirty racer, is that right bud?  :2funny:

Well I chatted to him for about ten minutes and like most of us he has good memories of BITD. He told me his address in Guisborough but I forgot the bloody house number so I might have to knock at a few doors down his street to find him again  :-[. One bit of bad news, his lass chucked all of his old gear after a domestic, including all his photo's  :10_2_12:, as you can imagine he is devastated. Also he's not on the web at the moment so he's unlikely to turn up here any time soon. I'd love to see him at the track again as well, told him you were still competing so who knows  :)

First jump at Darlington, Number 3 is me, John Tucker number 1.

First jump at Dunston(Gateshead) Gordon Stanley is number 5 I think.

Hi Steve,

Your name rings a bell, if you where racing Tuck then you must have been an age group above me so we must have raced together in 17+ or Superclass. It's funny and a bit worrying but I can't hardly remember a thing about racing Superclass, only the odd snippet, must be all the blows to head I've had  :buck2:. Take a look over at the new Hartlepool track at Summer Hill if you get chance, things have changed a bit.

Andy Lincoln says you had a GHP, not many of them about BITD. Something is stirring in my memory, need a few days to think, the old memory circuits sometimes come back to life

I think they are from a year or two earlier - Darlo changed their first jump to become some weird sort of doubles before 86, as you're all down on the ground in that pic I'd say it was earlier...

Steve I remember hanging around Windy Nook track with you and Dave Young one summer. Good to see you on here.

Excellent video Russ, are you related to "chubby brown"  ::)

Faverdale has certainly seen better days, but at least it's still there, unlike a lot of others  :( Who ran that track?, what was the club called? Is it private land? how about building some trails there?
