Big thanks to Howard Nash for sending me this great photo  :4_17_5:

80's BMX superstar jumping Teeside doubles.

Also featuring Andy Ruffell(1UK), Andy Lincoln (2NE) and Rich Shuttleworth (1NE)  ::)

If I'd had a lighter helmet I might even have had the lead

Gawd now yer asking!  I don't remember racing the Ruff at Teeside so my guess is that this was just practice, but I could be wrong. 83-84 were great years and I loved my Redline  :smitten:

If the picture was wide screen Gary Prosser would be on the outside.

Yup it was either a club race (last round of the winter club champs?) or a regional the week before the 84 National alot of people raced two age groups that day so they could have a go a Ruffell (me included). I was happy as fook beat him in the second moto  ;D (Paul your a year out with the age groups everybody is + 1 year)

I see Roy Barkers name in a few replys here.  I bump into Roy from time to time - think he's got a little OS bike colletion going - Hutch or two.  His lad rides down our little skate park sometimes, not a bad rider ither- havent seen him for a while though.  Roy used to pop up to ape skate park on a GT when it was open.  I used to drool over Roys bike bitd - he was the first to get a set of CWs in town too I seem to remember, haha.

Damn it! Why can't I remember?  :tickedoff:  :2funny: Something about racing two age groups rings a bell, I fact I think I can recall that, but there's nothing about the race, maybe I got my arse kicked in the final and I erased the memory  :-\  who knows?

Beating Ruff back then was a great result  :daumenhoch: and those Nolan N19 helmets were quite popular

Yeh say Hello to Roy from Andy Lincoln too  :daumenhoch: (and tell him to get his arse on here). He had the trickest MK2 rally prep'ed Escort in 85 or 86 he took me for a blast round North Allerton in it and it was fookin' wild.

I think that is the final Paul and you came second with me third (but I'd just won the club champs and beat Kev Hayes so I wasn't that bothered  8))

And Paul CW's suck big style  :LolLolLolLol:

I wrote some notes on the bottom of this trophy.

11th March 1984, damp conditions, 17+ race.
I came 3,4,1 in my moto's, Ruff won the main with a troublesome young upstart called A.Lincoln taking 2nd  :yahoo_silent:

Hi Paul, I'm the brother of Adam Brown (1970-1995) who rode for Team Iveson in this period. Do you recall him? Photo of him (and our mam) is believed to be from Northallerton. Also, how do I get on contact with his racing pal Howard Nash? Ta
