Had a walk up the quarry on Friday evening to get the feel of the place again, with the intention of having a spin before the summer is over. A shame it looked cold, wet, full of cans and bottles and feeling sorry for itself Not many bike tracks were visable either. Is anybody still riding up there?

Is anybody still riding up there?Hey, I would have come up with you but I had to go out drinking I've seen a few people going up now and then but not as many as early in the year. Without me, you and Nige doing all the spade work and tidying up all the time I'm not surprised that it's looking sad. I kinda lost enthusiasm a bit when none of the young'uns would give a hand and knackin my back and what not didn't help. At the end of the day if the lads who are riding won't dig then it's never gonna reach it's potential. We put a lot of work in last winter and showed them how it's done, it annoys me off when people take the piss and disrespect the place. On a good note Nige was telling me that Jack has jumped the first set of the mini DP, well done Jack
hello everyone .i,m surprised that you thought it was looking sad and unused.ive been going up at least 3 times a week all summer .been keeping all the litter down i took 3 bags down on wednesday nite,me and jack did some re lining of the 8 pack last weekend,it,s running sweet.ive got plans in place for the winter for a new set leading up the quarry after going round the big berm so theres a circular trail going on,i,m gunna take out all the shitty little jumps.i,m as keen as ever just havn,t seen anyone up we have had some great dusk sessions,a pity it,s been just me ,jack and often charlie.i aint been on here for ages ,it got a bit daft so i didn,t bother i just wanna ride as long as i can it,s as much of a buzz as it was when i was a kid.i,ll be up tomorrow as usual ,mainly riding and a touch of maintenance.could do with a bit of pipe if anyone can help me out around 6 to 8 foot it,s for the over flow in the spiral, cheers.i,ve got hold of some covers for the 8 pack jumps picking up rugs mats from all over, they save so much work on maintenance, also got another barra that i rescued well got two and made one good one out of em both.i,ve also got some aql t shirts on the way if anyone wants one there gonna look sweet, should be cheap as the bloke doing em does all my work stuff and he wants to keep the biz.all the tools are still up there i have to change the hiding place to keep the la la,s off.so the quarry is alive and well people just need to turn off the shit tv get off there backsides .
forgot to say i,ve got a page on you tube go to huttonaql, more vid,s to come aql
Hi all, my first post but I used to ride at Ayton occasionaly with Mike Hill, Steve Presland, Keith (is that you Keith thompson? ) & Dan Galloway when he was home with a few of the Wakefield Rehab / Brighouse locals. It was an ace spot at the time & I've got a few pictures somewhere that I'll dig out & post up.Glad to see its still running in some form, might venture up there on day when the weather supports it.Its a couple of hours drive for me but used to be well worth it.Graham.
Had a quick look up this morning early on and there where a load of National Trust bods picking litter. Nige has been looking after the place well so lets hope they didn't find much.
