The quarry is very very dry at the moment and all the bikes over the school holidays have loosened the top layer of dirt so it very dusty now. We need some light rain to stick down the dust before it blows away.

Don't think I'll be digging for a couple of weeks as I've really done me back in with all the recent stuff, and I'm in constant discomfort. It's putting me in a right argumentative mood too  >:( so watch it cos I'm likely to fly off the handle  :tickedoff: , if provoked

Thats class :). Never seen some of those tricks before, not even at X-games. or on the extreme channel. At 44 it looks like a flare, then lands on hid front wheel... Awesome :daumenhoch:
The bit at 15 secs where he roles backwards then flips... is that a front flip or a back flip :P

Front flips are easy, I did one in a race at Slough off the first speed jump, landed flat on me back, nearly killed me it did  :buck2: I also did a quad cartwheel after parking my kwaka in the from of a car that really did nearly kill me

Had a look up tonight on my MTB, really nice for riding, no wind and only a handful of riders. Picked up quite a lot of glass shards and then had some fun riding the spiral. Won't take much to get it riding backwards, am just wondering if the berm is gonna be high enough. Was talking to a bloke walking his dog. He used to ride the quarry way back and thinks it's brilliant now  :daumenhoch:

I only did a bit of light spade work tonight, hopefully it'll be ok tonight and not seize up. Will be up at the weekend but don't think I'm gonna risk aggravating my injury by bringing the barrow but if anyone else wants to cart it up just let me know. Recognised your car but a bit hard to wave with the spade in me hand. It's nice to get up on a bike, even if the wheels are too big.

I sat and looked at it for a bit thinking, oh the front wheel might wash out there and I could go over the berm etc, then I had a word with myself and just did it  ;D Could be good when it sorted. Might be worth using the dirt from the old spiral exit table to build up the berm there but we need more pipe for the spiral drain. Unless we are gonna abandon the pipe to keep water in the water hole of course?

Id keep the pipe in. If you are still planning a water hole there then it will be lower than the pipe anyway, but keeping the pipe in will let "some" water out esp over winter where we wouldnt want a swimming pool.
Have a look at it with Nige etc (if im not there) over the weekend  and see if my idea of a Quarter/half pipe would be worth considering as the shape etc is there, before any digging is done.

Supervised Nige's barrow work today, top class job especially with Charlie doing the loading. Shifted about  half the dirt from the water hole site and put it on DP Primer, did a bit more after Nige left but then the rain came which is good news indeed.

DP Primer gettin bigger.

Water hole a.k.a Charlies quarry.

It's a stepping stone for those who want to build up to the Death Pack. DP1 is 19 ft, we don't have anything else that's anywhere near that. Mini DP1 is 11 ft so we need something midway between the two at say 15ft to build the skills up and prime riders for an attempt at DP1. That's the idea but I hope its going to be a good jump in its own right. Hope that makes sense.

Looking at the photo, more dirt needs to be applied to the inner side of the lifter and lander to increase their height which will also shorten the length to the desired distance. The lander also needs to get wider yet and the run in needs sorting.

Ive got a vision of a line coming backwards around the start-hill berm, into a hip jump landing on the DP primer, then over the last 3 of the SODP... ::)

keep it lit!

Should be nice conditions after the rain. We've GOT TO PICK LITTER today  >:( at the bottom end as some people have been ignoring the rules and putting the trails in jeopardy  >:( :knuppel2:

I'll be up soon after 12 I think.

R yup today for some exercise, you could bring the barrow up if your feeling fit and show us your idea.

Love that pickaxe in "Diggin Days" and the jumps at 60 seconds and how the jumps are connected etc, great looking trails them, well crafted.

Dunno if ill be up today. Ive got MotoX, Superbikes, the GP and Boro on Sky to watch. If I do it'll be 4ish.

Shame theres still knobs who drop litter. To be honest Id put a temporary spade through the bottom jumps down there so theres nothing for em to ride for a week or so and see if they get the message then. It would be a shame on those that follow the rules, but lifes a bitch  :police:

Funny I was thinking along the same lines just this morning. It would be good if we could chain the jumps off while there was litter and keep them shut until it was tidied up  :police:

A hole here and there is easier :P. If word gets about that the quarry is knackered wouldnt be a bad thing... Holes can soon be filled in again ::)
