Gawd! It takes an age to upload these vids to YouTube, like been back at 9600 baud  :( but it's a good one of Ste and Shultz messing about on the Hips.

Sat in my car at the white gate for half an hour listening to the GP qualifying while it tanked down.
Got up there and met Nige and the kids digging when it stopped.
Did 3 hours. The place is soaking but it did get out in the aftey so we got a bit done...

Nige built the second lander on the mini trail...

I raked and leveled the "in" berm abit after the mini doubles...

Did a bit on the "out" berm, but it was to wet in that area...

So moved on and decided to do something with the unused pile of dirt next to the middle hip jump, turning it into a sort of high narrow table/hip thingy...

Lots of standing water in the run-up so this needs leveling at some stage when its drained away

Pissed off aint the word after what was said today. About 2ish two of the lads who ride regular from Boro came up.
They said "is it rideable"?...
Nige said "not really, its to wet".
So they said "it doesnt matter ...theres some trails around Roseberry they can go and do".
I said "why not grab a spade and do abit".

I didnt get the answer I was expecting.................................. "No we dont dig, we only ride"
Nige said "theres a sort of rule for trails.... to ride em, most people dig abit", but they just rode off.

Well I'll tell you what sunshine, Dont expect to be riding much when the suns shining and its summer holidays if thats the way you expect things to run. There we were caked in mud, wasting away our weekend, and you think its all for the likes of you or anyone else for that matter to come and go as you please. We dont usually ask for help, and to be honest I only asked in jest, but with an attitude like that, All I wanted to do was put my spade through the whole F***ing lot.... Come the summer hols....Maybe we will.

Like Nige said a few pages ago..... F***ing townie lala's >:D

ye not the response i was expecting from them ,well one of em i did but the other is a regular up there and thought we might be getting him to see how the trails scene works but they just don,t get it.whats hard about offering a couple of hours we don,t ask for there lifes just some effort now and then.i was explaining to jack yesterday he,s my son for anyone who doesn,t know who,s reading this he,s 10 and mad keen ,i was saying to him the buzz i got last weekend when i did the 8 pack was massive ye i wanted to get some air and get over them but the fact i,d spent days/weeks  over the winter making the jumps i was having so much fun jumping in the sunshine was the real buzz  all the hard work had been worth it,just for that one moment. may be it,s just never gonna get though to some of em thick bastards :uglystupid2:

A good idea, when they are sat at the top ready to do the 8-pack would be to park a wheel-barrow on the 1st jump >:D Think this might happen one day, or maybe my bike if we are digging

They are near Marple out back of Stockport, I can't put directions up for obvious reasons but basically there is a farmer dude who rides mtb and decided to turn the woods and the hill behind his farm into a bit of a park.  He gave us a the flatest bit in 2007 and we went from there.  I should point out we all ride bigger wheels and I don't think anyone has really hit them up on a BMX yet, am sure they would be fine though, the only real issue is the hill.

I would say set a date and you could have a pop up but with the weather the way it is (as ever in Manc) I can't really say!  We have to chain them up because they are prviate land and we don't want to get sued to death.

I can't really understand the attitude of some people to digging like, maybe am a bit of a sadist but I like the whole reap what you sow thing, I like digging something new in the piss wet rain then getting excited about riding it.  Some people are just doyles I guess, just tell em to where to get off next time its dry up there

Dunno what I'm doing yet this weekend, but the "dusk riding" sounds good to me (depending on what hours the Mrs is working cos we might be going out). Yeah the bike is up and running. I took the back wheel to bits and found it had 7 small bearings and 5 large. Fitted 13 small bearings and greased em and it got rid of the "clank". Its still not running smooth (crap wheels) but its ridable. Beggars cant be choosers. Dan did the same with the front wheel and he fitted pedals and a seat, so well done him for getting his hands dirty. He's been riding it at the skate-park, so he's happy with it but Im keeping my eyes out for new wheels and a few other bits.
Ill post whether ill be up tomorrow. Dont think it'll be the aftey, but possibly the evening.
