Ammaco ID - 1983 - 85 (best photo I have)
« on: October 13, 2008, 09:10 PM »
Finally found the only picture I remember ever taking of my Ammaco BMX.  Its a blurred original so I cant make out the name on the stickers.  At first I thought it was a Silver Star but looking at the chain stay on the Silver stars the chain stay curves into the seat stay. On this pic the Chain stay and Seat stay are tubes welded into a flat drop out.

Any clues if this is a Team Sprint OR Team Special ? The thing thats throwing me is my stickers look like a black block background with red lettering.... maybe I'm wrong.

Any help appreciated.

Note the strange craze we had for a while with the brake position !

EDIT: THink I've answered this myself. Its an 84 Silver star (seen pic in catalouge off this site) the stays are straight....

Looks like the Team Sprint I have on the bay. Its got that part welded between the seat tube and the downtube. Doesn't look like a Silver Star to me as those were looptails as per Kev's site. See pics below ;)

hehe, the hard sell  ;)  if it was £100 quid it would be a no brainer and I'd take it today... but your not going to sell it that low as clearly its worth more.

Si, no hard sell mate, just pointing out that the frame you said is clearly different, Silver Star is a looptail the other Team Sprint isn't and the team sprint frame looks basically identical to yours. You don't have to buy it. Someone will as its damn good condition and quite rare now.
