Skyway BBQ first time dyeing wheels

Hi all just wanted to share my dyeing with you all as it was my first proper attempt  :LolLolLolLol:
This is how the wheel started

This is my equipment i used  ;D a 205 ltr drum cut into 2 bits, the bottom bit filled with bbq coal and the top part for the water  :daumenhoch:

And the finished product  :daumenhoch:

Yeh just pop some kippers in a plastic bag and boil for 20mins  :LolLolLolLol:

How long was it in for ? .

I left them in for 2 hrs each but one didn't take too well and put in again today for 5 hrs which did the trick. I turned them over every hr, as for the hubs bit of autosol and job done  :daumenhoch:

i want to dye a seat what dye did you use because them wheels look as gd as new 8)


i would have never of thought about the dye thing  :-[ where did you find out about it ,its saved you some money ;)

There's a whole section on here about dying Tuffs - Rombloke is down in folklore as the master, but these do look good :daumenhoch:

Must admit, they look great but surely someone would have swapped a fairly rare yellow set for a common as muck black set? :2funny:

I'm going to ask the daft question, but I'm assuming you lit the BBQ to keep the water hot? Or am I really being thick, and you really wanted to cook your kippers....... :crazy2:

Anyone got any experience of dying a white one to blue by the way?

i had a similar setup when i dyed some zytecs

i tried the burner in this pic but ended up with a BBQ tray and coals

Hi spen, yes it was to keep the water hot whilst dyeing and rombloke on here gave me some advice, also munners (nick).
