« on: January 21, 2006, 01:08 AM »
Redid my old Hack back to (almost) the old days:

Mid 70s Littlejohn hack
Morris Mags
Mongoose Gold Stem
Cheng Shin Tires.

CYC Alloy Bars
Oury Grips
Gold post
Chair Rat trap pedals
Tange Fork
Tange Headset

Christophe Toe Clips and straps
Custom made by Sidehackguy sissy bar
Custom made side shields (Thanks Johnny "WFO" Severin)
Addicks Sprocket and spider

Bennoto Tape
Vinyl Snap Pads
Number plate is my tribute to the greatest hack team ever: John Palfryman and Doug Takahashi from the Rick's Bike Shop team.

Thanks for the comments guys

Hack went through a few changes over the years as equipment changed.  This one is in 79 or so with my friend and pilot Mike Hardaway

and a shot last year after hooking up after almost 20 years of not seeing him

Sweet.  I'd have loved to have had the chance to race a hack back in the day. :)

Thanks all

They are actually relatively easy to pedal.  They do weigh a lot, but not as much as it might appear.  Wheelies are the best, if you do it just right (and have a good monkey) you can lift the front wheel and side wheel for a short unicycle wheelie.

I wrote that I spent the day with Rick Twomey, you guys should see the crazy pictures he has of JP and Takahashi ripping up the tracks in their hack.

Great stuff m8... I always felt that sidehacks never got a fair shake with coverage and exposure back in the day. I would have loved to have had a go at Monkey ing or piloting one. A true classic...thanks for the pics.
