Powder coating cost

Roughly how much would it cost to get a F&F powder coated ?

If its currently chrome, does this put the cost up ?

My powder coater charges £40 for frame and forks, that includes all preparation (media blasting), it makes no difference to him whether it is chrome, paint or bare metal.

£40 is a good price including the blasting.Normally its £25 for blasting and £35 for a frame.
Be careful to choose a recommended one...even if you have to travel,my local coaters are RUBBISH and made a right bo##ox of stuff i gave em.
Personally,i prefer to spray stuff, but lots of people would disagree.

until i had that goose powdered i would have preferred to spray
but that powder is super shiny. and very tough!!!
how tough? well on an unseen bit (steerer tube) i hit it with a hammer to test it. no chips.

i would have easily spent 20 quid on rattle cans too.

i took mine to Atlas coatings, in staffordshire. they did a great job for me.

the downside to powder is the limitation of colours
the place near me does white, black, red, yellow, orange, navy blue, light blue and silver
they do all these colours weekly, so can put my parts into an existing batch to keep the cost down
other than that, there is a 75 quid setup charge, plus the cost of the powder. which would make for a costly paintjob

You are right,a good coat of powder is WAY tougher than spray paint. Its just getting it done properly. That goose looks great and a proper job.
Powder cant be 'touched up' if it starts flaking,it will just lift lots of coating off over time if its not done right.
Id go to the place that the Goose was done, looks proper BO.
