Lovely to see an old Wheels frame brought back to life. Haven't seen one of those in years.

Anyone know whether this rumour about the Wheels track was actually true - apparently when the start gate was first installed (I think it was the first electronic one in the country) the magnet was so strong that if you had a non-digital watch it would make the hands spin backwards (and ruin it) if you got too close? I'm sure I remember that being in the programme notes at the 83 Euros.

Don`t know about that, but, I do know that the BIRMINGHAMWHEELS BMX track is going to be REBUILT.  It is part done already.  I just spoke to a guy called Mark who I had a long chat with.  They are waiting for Bham city council to put their hands in their pockets and get things sorted. Apparently the British Cycling foundation are ready and up for it as soon as the council say yes.
Lookin at a big set up with changing facilities and floodlights drainage etc.

Brilliant news for me cus live in Birmingham..

Brilliant opportunity for your very nice bike to relive its memories !!!

membership forms will be out as soon as go ahead.  They are lookin at startin at the end of Feb, but that depends on how things evolve.
He said already 60 people are interested in membership etc.
You could give them a ring, I guess the more interest the better for persuasion !!
