1st build -Aero Reflex
« on: September 19, 2008, 07:27 PM »
This is my 1st build & here is the start of work in progress. I got the frame about 2 weeks ago & have been buying all the parts off members on this forum. I did take it to my local bike shop to have the BB & head cups pressed in but they had never heard of cups being pressed in & wouldnt do the work  :idiot2: I managed to fit  the BB & headset cups myself thanks to my neighbour who made me a press.

Here is the work so far..........

1985 NOS Aero Reflex

CW bars with mushroom grips

Sugino chainring, spider & bolts

Mongoose 170mm OPC

Elina UL seat & snake post

Tange Tioga seat clamp

Tange head lock

SR stem

Bear traps

Araya rims

Yaban chain

Custom decals by Del

Cool, but why did you stick the fork stickers on the seat stays?

I didnt want anything on the forks so i experimented & thought it would be a bit different to have them on the stay's. I didnt actually order them but del threw them in like the good ole boy that he is  ;)

Cheers all.

Comments are taken on board. Pickle what are Lamello's? Sorry im a noob but a learning one.

I prefer a proper layback post but ive built this on a budget & a low one at that so its a make do. This is really a practice build & i shall move on to bigger & better things for my next build. Ive got a Supergoose frame that i think im gonna build up next (if i dont sell it) but it will take some time to build that as i will have to throw a good bit of cash at it. Im gonna use this reflex as a rider so im not overly fussed about quality parts but like i said ive got some other bits on the way for it & some gumwalls are being bid on. Im happy with it so far for a 1st attempt  :daumenhoch:

sorry mate, as Del says they're great tyres........have a look on www.billys.co.uk  at the tyres.....they're made by KHE i think and you can get them in all black, amber wall (the ones you want) and black and grey.   should cost about £25 posted from them  :daumenhoch:

they great for riding too

Cheers Del  :daumenhoch: I will get the tyres sorted eventually!

Yep i have an EK9, It was my sisters, she wanted an EP3 but i convinced her to buy an EK9. When it got here she had it a month & still wanted the EP3 so i bought the EK9 off her, its a pure race car for the road!

I tried to get her to import a JDM EP3 but she didnt want the hassel of waiting again so went for a plain ole UK spec  :(

Are you into the R's Del?
