Early 80's action part 2
« on: September 09, 2008, 04:01 PM »
Buckmore park November 1981

Outwell mill lodge  indoor track November 1981
always loved this track because you always kept dry and reasonably warm plus it had spectator seating and a great chip shop.
Start gate. Far left is Craig Schofield, next to him is me (Reece) and up the other end is #799 "crash or win"Darren Stock.I think gate 5 or 6 could be one of the Wonfor brothers

Stocky in the lead,Schofield second and me third.

What a holeshot  :2funny:

The peoples champion, Ruff

Team shot of our club Canvey road runners

On the left is Cliff Welley ,i still see him every now and then , i'm in the middle with the poxy hair do :LolLolLolLol: 6th from the right is Tony Hyre and 2nd from the right is Adam Welley sadly taken from us .

I see Ratty (or Chris Wonfor?) helping Sean McDonaugh do up his crash helmet on the gate in the background in pic on at Buckmore.

Reece, do you see Anthony Hyre at all, he was a good buddy of mine as we were in same group, pretty fast rider too, think he was good mates with Sid too.

I remember Cliff Welley had real distinctive riding style rocking the bars as he rode & was very passionate about winning so much so that he went mental if he won & got very upset if he didnt!!

V. Sad news about Adam Welley, didnt know that?

Are you back on a bike yet Reece??

hi kieth
Anthony lives near me ,he came in to work one day and left his phone number but  i was on holiday so it went missing as these things do so im hoping he'll pop in again.
I still see Sids dad ,very good chiropodist you know.
Your right about cliffs riding style ,i still see him sometimes hes a big f**ker now,and as for Adam well i'm afraid he was murdered.
I'm back riding again ,managed to get myself a 1983 quad, totaly original so iv'e carried on where i left off even to the point of era correct race gear (bit geeky really)

i should be posting some more pics tomorrow.
