Tony, Gary Willats was in your group but they messed his entry up that day & put him up a year, most people would complain etc he just raced them & won!! Shows how hard your group was with Schofield, Maloney, Stock etc etc!

my age group that had schofield,holland,stocky always was crowded         before the days of a,b,c finals if my memory serves me right we had to endure 1/16 1/8 1/4 semi's and a final.  super fit we all were

Gutted for Sam (or Daniel as he was known then) as he got a number 4 plate at the end of the season. That was the year of the world championships in Japan. Top 3 had all their expenses paid to go and he missed out by a couple of points I think to Louis Mears. Mum and Dad couldn't afford to go.

Shame that.

Pic 2 i think is either Scott Vogel or Dylan Clayton in the Robinson kit ,and Jamie Staff tucked in the Raleigh uniform

Steve Gilley (in pic 2) would've been born in 1970, either same age as Wayne Llewelwyn or one year below, dont think DC or JS are that old?

gilly moved round the corner to me in the 80s and wasnt in my year at skool i was born in 70 think he was 72 ?

Of course I knew Bob, I was star struck and got my mum to take a piccie next to Ruffell!. Wasn't keen on Chris Young though.

We met up with Chris recently Tone, a really nice, unassuming guy now, his dad passed away recently
He has a few great memories, has had a real hard time of it lately.

as ratty says Chris recently lost his dad and for various other reasons has had a hard time of it, but i'm hoping to get him ridng again some time soon

I raced against Jamie Staff in the late 80s (1973 year of birth); I think Dylan is a couple of years younger.
