Mad mate. Im a kingston boy. You boys 'over the water' are a bit different to us! :LolLolLolLol:

I think his Mum passed away. He seems a lonely man but a wealth of knowledge when it comes to osbmx. The BEST shop around SW London and Surrey wi

I dont think he has anything left now. If he has it is buried away under the crap he has. He cant be bothered to go in there and wont let you in there either. :idiot2:

I have bought some parts form him for silly money but he has also sold me stuff for top dollar.

He will never sell them posters either!

I know. I bet he had so much when it died as he bought so much.

I dread to think what he had going through that shop which he either threw out or sold to the likse of Biagio.

If you look at the old bmx mag adverts he sold the best parts that would grace ANY bike now.

Ah bless john from Waldens! :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:

Sweet Vans shop.  Local to me so I'll have to have a looksee next time I'm in town.  I do like Nike 6.0 nowadays though, but still got 3 pairs of Vans on the go at the minute.

I never knew Waldens when I was a kid as I lived up north, but it's a bit of a tip now.  Makes me wonder how he makes any money to stay open as I can't imagine many people use the shop other than the odd shopper bike puncture repair.  Stuff all over the place (not OS stuff, just random bike stuff and most of it covered in years of dust).  Been in a couple of times (first time I went in about 7 years ago he had loads of NOS Skyway pedals and other bits and bobs but wouldn't budge on any prices or do any deals).  He was telling me about how one Xmas him and his family had to work 48 or 72 hours around the clock just to build up all the bikes that had been ordered.  He does seem like a lonely/Norman Bates type character.

Loving the Mongoose banner and Mike Buff posters still in the window from almost 30 years ago though!  If Bagpuss owned a BMX shop, it would be Waldens  ;)

As a Kid I used to walk past Waldens on the way into town. He used to have a stunner Torker in the window that I used to dream about. I can't remember if it was Chrome with yellow or actually a yellow frame. Either way it was  :smitten:

Let me know what the Vans shop is like if anyone goes in. I only wear Vans and could do with a couple of old school laceups. I bought my last pair from the Vans shop in Carnaby Street for £28 but I think it has closed down now.

Seriously though, how does that shop stay open?  It's a complete tip and I can't imagine he sells any bikes anymore with Evans and Halfords just down the road.
