Just going through some of the old posts and found this one.
The bike Nicole Kidman rode with the yellow Tuffs is an Australian made bike called a Malvern Star "Supermax".
I owned a few of these years ago. They also made a Redline copy frame that was all cromo and had Tange forks and araya rims laced into Shimano DX hubs.

I actually rode that track in 1985 when I went to see relatives in Penrith near Sydney, Australia.
BMXing had totally gone out of fashion there so I borrowed my cousin's mates Redline, and rode it totally on my own.
Had an absolute ball, although I would have liked Nicole Kidman to greet/bone me at the finish line. She's certainly sorted out her frizzy barnet since her BMX Bandits days.
The scene when they take the bikes down the water slides was a really cool water park in Mount Druitt.
Over and out.
Darby.

The water slides scene was not filmed at Mt Druitt. They were fimed in the water slides at Manly pier. There used to be a fibreglass skatepark there before the slides. I raced with the guys that did the stunt scenes. Penrith track (Hickeys lane) was a cool track I beat a factory JMC rider, Bart Mcdaniels at that track.
How do I know all this info on BMX Bandits? I was in it!

Yes it's still there. I haven't been there for quite a few years but I know people that still race there.
