Your collectable or restoration Holy Grail?
« on: January 16, 2006, 04:01 PM »
In December 1984 I got a GT Pro Performer that I spent virtually every waking minute on (when I wasn't racing that is  ;D). I have been on the look out for a F&F for ages as this would be my holy grail of restorations. I now have one coming to me from the States and armed with the full parts list that is etched on my brain and the original photo's I still have, this will be my main project this year. It will take a bit of time as I still have to finish the Hutch that is virtually done and a CW (half done) but I think this will be the most enjoyable one because of the history!

Just wondered what everyone else's holy grail was or is or have you now got it?

Vincent Freestyler (triple tube job)
SE Trickmaster

Neither of which I am ever likely to see and if anyone did ever have one I doubt very much they'd ever sell it for £20

This is mine, I am doing a replica of my Gen 1 from bitd, got most of the bits now so it should go together this summer  :daumenhoch:

This was mine , only a cromo burner , but this sums up BMX in the 80s for me personally as it was xmas and birthday present and my paper road money all rolled into one
I had a few much nicer bikes after this , but this brings back so many memorys its my favourite resto.

No worries Oli - just sort me out a puch murray eh!  ;)

Well, when I was a kid I would have said Gen 1 Haro, Skyway TA, Quad and PK Ripper ......always wanted an AeroPro Burner too.

Now tho' the only bike I would absolutely never get rid of ( most of the others are unlikely to go either ;)) .....
is my Curtis Pro.

I never thought I would find as good a 'survivor' but I did  :)

It's not exactly as I want it yet but it looks great as it is so I'm in no rush to change it.

Cheers to Harry from Manchester for selling it to me 3 years ago! Best road trip ever!

Got an AeroPro to show off as well...cheers Lee and Julian for help with this.

Hi all

My Holy Grail, it's got to be my Haro Master, then maybe another Haro, a Gen 1 :-[. However I am getting a real taste for a Ripper and a Turbo....

It was Royston Rockets (note the old mobile home) and it was the EA series www.roystonrockets.co.uk Who did you race with Matt?

I found a few pics today of myself and a friend (don't know why he is on my DB, and i'm on his Night Burner  :wtf:) Both bikes looking very nice with Z's on, and we are doing some tricks and winning rophies at Royston. I'll get them up on here tomorrow.

Haven't got a holy grail now. I've had all the bikes I ever wanted as a kid so now I'm going almost completely new school, but with a retro feel. Got my Kappa, getting a Sport and I've still got my Robinson Pro.
It's nice to see these old bikes and I relly admire the dedication and time it takes to build them. But this t=year i want to spend my time riding them a lot more and for me that's going to mean new school almost all the way.

Greentoad ,

In the 1st pic (Royston) the guy in 2nd is Kevin Sykes .

The pic with Miranda is Royston also . Here's another of Mike & me  that evening .

He was a cool guy , met up with him at the Slough 86 Worlds later that week , he gave me a Woodward Camp "Staff" T shirt.
