Anyone familiar with coaster hubs?
« on: September 01, 2008, 06:09 PM »
I just bought a shimano coaster hub on ebay,

it seems like I will need to get a sprocket for it,

but I was wondering if I need a lockring?

Also, can you suggest a good place to buy these bits?

thanks.

I had one of these.
The sprocket is a sturmey archer fitment, not regular shimano fit.
They do turn up on ebay quite regular.
I made the clip at work though, we had a round circlip of a similar size.
Incidently the axle nuts were 3/8"x24 tpi unf thread, not the usual 3/8x26 cycle thread.

Try these, don`t know if they`re compatible with your hub though.

I have a 13t kore cog which should fit, and a few lock rings, although I have welded them on before!

Sturmy Archer 3 speed bits fit as well if that is any help.

Actually I'm not sure about that. They do fit on Suntour coasters though so they might be the same

Just re-read the above posts and someone has already said this. I will go back to sleep now!
