I think for me it was the f/f, but was also into what wheels people were running, when everybody switched from mags to alloys!
Do you grovel to your master? Do you beg like a dog?

Where i grew up it was always the parts on the bikes.  As everywhere most bikes were burners etc.
So everyone wanting to tart their bikes up a bit would get the best parts possible. Cheaper and easier than a new frame-set.

So parts for me  :)   G.  :daumenhoch:

I remember clamping my eyes on a DB Harry leary Turbo at Bournemouth and was just mesmerised by it's beauty. I think it's the only frame set that has done that to me.
One build a year, the only way to get it right. No rushing involved.

I part agree with you there m8. Then again i had a Turbo in the early 80's, as i have 2 now. They're my ultimate bmx... Ever.  :daumenhoch:
But as much as i love the frame-set.. It was the cranks, saddle, wheels that really made the bike for me.
No you're right, the frame did it for me too  >:D   G.  :daumenhoch:

Has to be the frame, biggest single memory i have from B.I.T.D is a Torker 280. Fell madly in love with it there and then. Chrome with Yellow pads. The owner was a right shit pie to  :-\

i think i would focus in on the frame first and if it was something worth looking at, i would then check out the parts, then check colour scheme, then how good or bad the rider was... generaly they was shite....like i am now :'(
R.I.P  O.M. Far short of the finish line...

this didnt really happen for me as i wasnt about in the 80's (unfortunately  :() but i do spot some nice things on peoples bikes when i race at my local track on club meeting's.

there's people still using old school now!, some kid on a Haro expert frame runs and Uni mini seat and seat cover with green Vans kool-stop pads, another kid uses blue arayas with suzue hubs from alans bmx and i seen a lil nipper riding a webco expert! must of been 90's.

When you used to go around with ya mates on the streets and you clapped eyes on some other dudes on their bikes , what caught your eye first

when i was about 12 ish i was as big as lads 15 or 16 so sometimes you could end up mixing with the wrong sort if they liked your ride and you were not carefull, i used to think could i kick him in the swingers before he does me if it all turns ugly  :P
luckily i turned out to be the big lad on the bmx's and no one messed with me, but one thing that always caught my eye was if the bike was a freestyler frame,i would have to check what parts they were running, if it was a normal bmx and had tuffs or z rims etc i would have a peep too but a nice freestyler always got me interested.

I remember back in the day, I had a proper pos (stratton) there was one lad whos parents were minted, he had a gen 1 Haro and they used to come from miles around just to have a gander. Everything was mega top end on it, nobody could touch it, about 6 week ago I took my motor in for a service at his garage, I asked him about it with buying it in mind, he mentioned that he often thought about it and wished he had put up more of a fight when HIS DAD SKIPPED IT when he left home.  :idiot2:  :idiot2:

His jaw hit the floor when I gave him a rough value on its worth.

F+F and parts ruled around by us bitd.
