T/A resto, build up
« on: January 14, 2006, 09:03 PM »
Got the frame back from powder coat today, so I've built it up as far as I can tonight. I still need to sort grips and a chain, and I need to fit the crank bearings properly. Those new sealed ones are a right biatch to get in. I need to use a press, or a vice, neither of which I have.
The bars are not staying, but the genuine NOS CW's haven't arrived yet, so they'll do for now.

Parts list:

7/83 Skyway T/A frame & forks
Tuff II red front & blue rear wheels
Redline 175 Flight cranks (new dual pinch)
Tuff Neck chainring
KKT lightning pedals
Pro Neck stem
Tange locknut headset
Dia Compe MX1000 brakes/Tech 3 levers
GT layback seat post
Suntour seatpost clamp
Kashimax Aero seat
Win 'CW' bars (for now)
Red Tuff pads/blue Kool stop pads
Cheng Shin (sp) whitewall tyres
Skyway padset

All componets are NOS.

Thanks for looking

Hi..

Great build and Pure sex....if I had that, I'd kick the Mrs out of bed and make sure the bike was tucked up warm and cosy, real class....

Well nice mate! Good mix of colours and agree with Waxintaxin, mix the caliper arms with white. It would be well different. Good work fella!  :4_17_5:

Thanks doods  :daumenhoch:

I tried inter changing the calipers this evening, but I didn't like the look so I've changed them back again. Maybe it would work with white, but I'm happy to keep them as they are now. Not sure on chain colour yet either.

jimwise68 The Tuff Neck chainring came from Biagio at www.vert-ego.com although he seems to be having website issues at the moment.

You've got great taste, I ran a red and blue tuff combo on my T/A bitd purely by accident to start with then when a few people commented at track it looked cool they stayed on for about 2 years. then i lost my way and got a racer.  looks way better on white tho, specially with colour matched parts. top work :daumenhoch:

Not sure on chain colour yet either.

you could buy, a red one, a blue one and a chrome one . . . .  and a link extractor :)
that'll keep you busy for a while

The thought did enter my head, when I saw my link extractor in the garage yesterday, but that same thought quickly exited stage left  :uglystupid2:
