They look like a bunch of 12 year olds in that scene from ET with the flying shopping bike. But when they take their helmets off they turn out to be grown-ups. One of them is 30.

fookin roadies for ya

I wouldn't get too wound up about it Jai.

You can't reason with people who would rather watch people ride round in circles on a wooden track.

I watched the Madison track event on Tuesday and it was dull as fook.

Can't please all of the people all of the time.

fook me, they wouldn't wanna see me trying to ride park then.

lol.

horses for courses ain't, dunno why peeps have to frown on other peoples sports.

I was in stourport on severn the other week and there was a funky little skate parke and there  was a group of skaters, inline skaters and bmxers all riding together and having a good time...which is the whole point is it not?

The most pointless sport has to be 'fast-walking'. WTF is that all about? Camper than a row of pink tents.

Roadies have got to be one of the most grumpiest group of people out there... its too competitive for their own good, i often go out at the weekend on an mtb for a nbit of mileage, any MTB'r you come across - you can be sure that they will say hello or acknowledge you, roadies just ignore you...

i think its because they realise we are actually having fun and they are just pushing their 'farmers' back up their arses on those saddles!

I wouldn't knock anyone's sport, it 'd be dull as fook if every fooker rode a 20" bike for their sport.

some of the events I'm not sure should be in the olympics (dressage for one) but I wouldn't diss anyone for
having the determination to suceed at ANY sport be that darts in the pub or speed walking.
(for record I don't rate man against fish as a sport. lol. but a good way to chill out and have a beer)

you see by knocking the walkers it makes you sound like the roadies knocking the bmxers.  :daumenhoch:

lol. I don't get out much now, but wheni did ride an MTB I'd end up on the road for a lot of it, and to be honest if you say hi roadies most often will reply with a hi or at least a grunt.

we used to have this big "anti hiker" thing going on, oh how we laughed at their red socks, but you know they are just people out to enjoy the country side same as we were once you took time ot chat to few of em.

spread the love...let it be known that bmxers love everyone.

Jealousy, plain and simple.

They'll be dying to try it, but daren't because they fear what 'people' will think.

People at work have all been talking about it, these are 40-60 year olds.
They all reckon its mental, well impressed by it.

They were under the impression that bmx was all wheelies and bunny hops.

Aparantley Simon Mayo was aying he was surprised that they had bmx racing in the olympics as it was a kids sport.

I think that is the biggest challenge we have in front of us now is to overcome this missplaced perception.  :daumenhoch:

Ignorant  :idiot2:

Your man seems to have forgotten that A lot of the track cyclists have come from BMX backgrounds... Hoy, MacLean, Staff et al. I am sure this trend will carry on and the new BMXers coming through will continue to feed their sport.

He should show a little more respect and be a bit more grateful for what BMX has given his sport

Maybe he's gay Graeme the sailor bmx bum boy  :LolLolLolLol:

Looks like lots of positive comments and only one or two negs, I'm a big roadie fan but sometimes you have to ask what's the point of time trialling as an Olympic sport and the Kieren (following a moped?) but we're not bitching about it are we?

Just read both pages of that thread and a good percentage of the comments were positive and some interesting points raised about why any particular sport should be in the Olympics in the first place. 'A strong governing body to lobby for a sports inclusion' would explain how beach volleyball is an Olympic sport ffs..... well, that and the fit birds I suppose.
