I thought that she was a wrestler judging by how often she was on the floor.  ;D

I don't think Shanaze will be riding BMX in 2012 I think she will be on the track team (providing there is a race for her at the 2012 Olympics)

Gutted for our girl Shanaze but she is still the best female BMX racer ever, it just didn't go her way on the day.

Gotta admire her guts for picking herself up from several bad slams and giving it her all.  Also gotta admire her gold or bust attitude fighting all the way to the last berm and then still going for it when in a comfy silver medal place.  Much more to come from Ms Reade.  No reason why she can't be a multi medal winner like Chris Hoy at London 2012 if she mixes track and BMX.

As for Sarah Walker, I agree with the previous comments  :smitten:

yep sometimes its gold or nothing  no real prizes for second place  she gave 100% and in my book that makes her a champion

Yep im gutted for Shanaze  :(
after she lost it on the berm in the first seeding run she did not look that confident on the berms
do you think the bike was set up ok for that surface?
But the girl gave it 100% and that is all we can ask she is still number one in my book  :4_17_5:

A lot was said about her bike set up before she left for China (a lot of us questioned why she had changed set up from a bike she won the test event in 2007 and the world title in 2008 on to a frame with new geometry and experimental forks so close to the event), but at the end of the day, it wasn't about the bike, she just wasn't her normal 110% confident self around that berm after all of her crashes, and she might have been better off choosing an outside gate (i.e. gate 3 or 4) to have got a better line around the berm, cos with her gate and pull, she was always gonna be first to the berm anyway.

What's done is done.  Shanaze is still UK BMX's national treasure and she'll be back better and stronger once the disappointed fades.

Totally agree Mike classic slingshot move that you cant do from the inside,
she also got more cranks in after the 2nd double on the 1st straight even
my mrs noticed noticed that.
