Araya Rims?
« on: January 01, 2006, 03:58 PM »
Are Araya Aero rims, in silver, anodized or laquered in some way? I am trying to polish a set and am only acheiving the desired mirror finish on the sidewalls where the brake has rubbed. You can see a diference in material between the "rubbed"area, and the middle which has not been rubbed. I know caustic removes anno, but does it attack the alloy? Help needed! Ad.

No Guy, Araya Aero's do not have a sidewall as such, it is one continuous surface from side to side. If you know what I mean? Ad

Been a bit busy with work, and then the brakes failed on my van, so just got a bit overwhelmed. Gonna give it a go this weekend I think.  :santa_afro: Ad

I've got a set in alloy that need some attention as well. Might give mine a go at the weekend also. Does anybody know where you can get the little Araya stickers though.

Rims polished and built up. The pic does not do them justice. They have come up really well. Didn't take too long either, about an hour per rim (on a polishing wheel, not by hand) the result;
