Not strictly BMX
« on: August 22, 2008, 11:05 AM »
I know a few of you chaps are bike shop owners and am looking for info to help a mate out.

His son 10 yo is looking to get a 24 wheeled bike, he has a couple of bmx's already and is not sure what to go for, ideally with gears so I guess a small mountain bike or other discipline ride?

The lad average height so I am thinking a normal mtb frame may be too high for stand over height! Any suggestions on rides and any deals to be had?

Many thanks

Paul

:) How about something like an MTB  jump bike? 24 wheels, low pro frame with small standover hight...DMR & 24/7 both have completes available as do plenty of other companies...

Budget will be the key factor, as Heywood says a jump frame is naturally low slung, the choice is plentyful. Mongoose have a 24" jumpy at £200, DMR start at £400, but there are tons to choose from  :daumenhoch:
Whats the matter Kid, don't ya like clowns? Don't we make you laugh? Aint we fukkin funny?

weight will be an issue esp with a dmr as they are made of 4130 chromoly, so ur better off going for a ally frame

this is my old jump bike with gears

and my current project
