Replacing axles
« on: August 20, 2008, 06:19 AM »
I have not ever replaced an axle on a wheel and I wondered if anyone had a guide on a website anywhere that would help?

I have got some alloy-hubbed Tuffs that need new axles and have ordered the kits from Vert-ego.

I could sling them into a bike shop and get them done, but at some point I want to be self-sufficient.

Is it a simple task?  Would I learn what I need by removing the old ones?

PS: I have done a search and couldn't find anything helpful.

If you can use a spanner you can change them yourself.

Get a pair of cone spanners which are very thin, flat spanners and check out this site ...
