I use ACS Claws

Nick has em on his race wheels and spare wheels and i have one on my cruiser...... Nick loves the loud clicking too..........  :smitten:

15 quid each and i have had no probs ...even with him racing and training all season.

I know what you mean ........... the ACS click loudly is all so Nick loves em. ( Loud clicking from freewheel is good for kids.)

I know the noise you mean as i changed my cruiser freewheel because of the horrible clonking noise coming from it.......... 2 months old.

Cheap generic crap unfortunately.

Rhys, Harrison runs a 13t Odyssey freewheel had no problems, I clean it out with wd40 every so often and then run teflon oil into it. Was thinking about a cassette for him to go smaller but as it is 30-13; chain hits the brake.
If Bailee's is a flip/flop and caliper brake you can even get 12t freewheels.

ive always used a shimano one with no probs and there silent too :daumenhoch:

i hate clicking cassettes hence why i put a load of copper grease in mine, spun it a few times and wiped away the excess and now its so much quieter

gotta say the Claws are good freewheels you can feel the quality, sayin that tho all bikes i race (barr 1) have the £5 DB (dicta) ones from halfords on, i never clean them or oil them (much to dan dares despair) they are full of shite as you can here it and they just keep going and going, never had one slip, click or fook up yet. shimanos are crap, were crap BITD too but looked nice, suntours are far superior but not a patch on the claws but like i said the dicta ones have been good to me and they have been makin freewheels for a long time so they should be

sorry if it sounds patronising, but what do you mean by 'oil'

theres never any need to oil a freewheel, if any form of thin oil gets into the freewheel it'll strip the internal grease.

I cant imagine what kind of freewheels come without grease?

Go for ACS, Shimano or if your feeling rich, a white industries.

Stay away from dicta and unbranded stuff.

Ive found old beaten up rust survivors 20+ years old.

The shimano freewheel has always still worked perfectly.
