VECTOR - History please?
« on: August 07, 2008, 03:47 PM »
As you probably seen on the for sale section, i'm lucky enough to get myself a Vector Mark II frame/forks, but I'd like to know more about them please. What's the history behind them? Did Haro have anything to do with Vector? Has anyone got any magazine scans of Vector?

Thanks in advance,

Matt  :4_17_5:

I nearly bought one in 84. The only place my dad could find was a shop called Hot Wheels in Bournmouth which was miles away (from Cardiff). Ended up with the TRM because it was 5oz lighter  ??? I was having a good stare at that at MK, be nice to see it built.

daz bmx it!

the early one's were made by VDC, but latter one's were independant I think. The brake bride is different I think,

Someone like Baldbmx'er may be able to help as I think he's got a Vector ? I sold mine ages ago, they are nice though

Lovely stuff Mart, would be great to see that review. What's the story behind vector? Is Bob himself got anything to do with them?  ???

Don't think Bob had anything to do with them beyond the Freestyle Bars and their early sponsorship deal with him.  They were around in the early 80's making bars and then moved into frames and forks around 83/84.  The scan is on my laptop which the wife is using at the moment; will sort it out later  :daumenhoch:.
