fook the bmx - she is pretty fit - id fook her
This is the Olympics, not Hersden. If she wins the Gold think how much money that will generate for BMX in this country. Not just the clubs but also the small one man band companies. Money well spent I think.
be better if she was on a aero reflex
Does anyone know when she is racing??
Shanaze rocks. The bike's alright, but the forks are a waste of money and the saddle looks like a sex toy. I don't hate it, I guess I'm just a little disappointed that a rootsy company like Redline (a company I have a lot of respect/admiration of) couldn't come up with something better for an Olympic champion to be.Anyone who thinks spending 30k to develop a set of BMX forks is "money well spent" or "will put BMX on the map in this country" need their heads checked.Shanaze winning gold in Beijing may help the sport grow in the UK, but what bike she is on and how expensive her forks are is completely irrelevant to the sport growing.

Obviously 30K spent on two sets of fors is not money well spent in itself but seen in the full context of what she's trying to do it's a drop in the ocean. The upside is that BMX is now an Olympic sport and even without her winning she'll have a huge impact on the sport not just to those that already know of her but also to those that don't. BMX will be the huge winner in the country and my only hope is that the BCF don't bugger it up.
The Americans have spent $500,000 replicating the Olympic track ffs!
so has liam not been given a set of those forks seen as he is representing great britain?
Yeah, it's great to see investment. Hopefully it'll be long term investment that reaches the grass roots, not just the elite. The sport got raped in the mid-90s when mountain bike companies like Gary Fisher, Trek, Bontrager, Marin, Kona, etc brought out bikes, took the money and ran. Let's hope the track/roady companies who are sticking their noses in BMX now it's in the Olympics don't have the same business plan.
