Glad you agree on my other points though.. ;)

Yeah, you got me on the black, but my NS bike does have a real seat WITH a seatpost showing!

Colours are well in on NS bikes tho. Look around and its like the pastel 80s bikes all over again. It all comes round.

Thats more like it, Nick. maybe ditch the platform, if i was being picky ;) [Only cos it hides the nice lines of the frame]
Otherwise, parts wise its spot on. I like Comp 3's on a freestyler, despite purists saying you should have smooth freestyle tyres...

And Alex,

I will be keeping my eye out more for NS bikes, to see if they have come round to realising colours are better...I like 2 mins from Skaterham, so I'm surprised i haven't seen more...

Unfortunately the argument for the TA is just too strong.

Race - Freestyle - Street and it bridges the decades   :daumenhoch:

Its not often I pick up 2Bob but Ive seen a stack of broken TAs. I dont get why people make a big deal of them at all

I'll bow to your superior knowledge buddy, but I maintain I've never seen a broken one or even heard of a broken one until tonight....  Oh what a sheltered life I've led.  I'm assuming they didnt hold up too well later on in the 80s. I was all done and retired by 84 remember.  I'm proper old, me  :-[

I've seen pretty much everything else broken though....  perhaps with the exception of an STA. Didn't Stuart King set out to deliberately break one at some point in the 90s though?  Or was that just a vicious rumour  :D

T/A`s and Gen 1`s get my vote, even Matt Hofman rode a T/A though so they do have some pedegree (sp)  :daumenhoch:

I dont think the TA was ever a freestyle frame. The way I see it is the tuff wheel took over freestyle (cos it was awful to race on) so skyway put together a freestyle team riding the only frame they had ... a race frame! Did any skyway freestylers ride a TA once the streetbeat was out? (Thats a real question, I dont know if they did?)

TA ... Aero Pro ... aero anything ... all the same really.

(this has nothing to do with how anyone "feels" about the TA, but I dont think they are all that!)

i guess the skyway riders weren't "allowed" to ride a TA after the streetbeat (which was chud when you look back on it) was released..

anyway i think greatest is a misnomer.. iconic?? that's probably more apt seeing as EVERY SINGLE OLD SCHOOL BMX WAS A WEAK PIECE OF TIN!!

Rippers were being used as all rounders before the TA was on the scene.RL used to use one and PK used to race one. They might be fragile but i love them.I raced a TA at MK07 (as well as every one else it seemed) and i liked that to,but the PK is the daddy.

TA= an old, brittle, rubber band...  Iconic, yes. The Greatest, no thanks...  I'd take  a PL20 over a TA any day of the week ;)

Haro Freestyler?  ...could be...  it split BMX, it gave the rider a choice... Race? or Freestyle?

...who knows?   Limo, Condor, Dirt Bike etc etc...  this is too hard, go and ride your bike  :D

Weak/strong doesnt really come into it.

At the time the TA was a great frame, it may have been surpassed by newer frames but thats evolution for you.

The balls Skyway must have had to produce and market a frameset from quite radical tubing.

Greatest must account for iconic/desirable/cool/rideable.

Ultimately its all opinion...

Yep, Matt Hofman did because the Streetbeat was too short for him  :daumenhoch:

I knew you were going to say that Bill  >:(

Yeah, and his TAs soon ended up under the ramp with the rest of the broken frames  :daumenhoch:

He did go rather high though  ::)

I think most bikes get broken in slams anyway, I know most if not all of the damage done to my bikes is when I bail off of them to save myself  :crazy2:
