ok i change my mind. for me it would have to be the Haro Gen 1 as it was a bike that changed bmx and freestyle as we know it! as every freestyler from there on had twin top tubes, standers, pegs etc.

for racing it would have to be the loopy pk ripper. the reason is that it changed the world of bmx racing, it was strong, light, easy to race etc. and from there on any top quality racer was just like that  :daumenhoch:

I'd go with a TA with Gen 1 very very close second. TA is definately more of an all-rounder. Just building one myself at the moment  :D

JMC Andy Patterson for me

but for Looks i'd go with the Loopy Quad - yes they were flawed and Sid used to Break em for fun but they were totally unique

Greatest BMX of all time......................why are you just looking at the OS stuff?

I for one am 100% sure that I wish I had my S&M Neal Wood frame in the mid 80's  :coolsmiley:

Modern bikes are so much cooler to ride all round, better geometry, stronger and durable.

When I ride any of my OS bikes it baffles me how we rode them BITD! but I guess we didnt know any different.

So my best bike of all time is my S&M Neal Wood, but then again you cant go wrong with any of the S&M race frames!  :daumenhoch: whether it be any of the Challengers, RV's or the 38 Specials  ;D

Neal even rode an S&M made to look like a DK while rideing for DK  :coolsmiley:

I think Rippers have a lot going for them because you can basically buy the same front triangle today as you got in the 70's, not many other bikes can say that. But am I confusing BMX Icon with best bike?

Ask Yoda about snapped TA's he's got a skip full  ;)

Why oh why do I still buy kids bikes!

Yes they all had there own personality or gimmik in the way they were built but they ALL had there flaws. Rippers were made of plastiscene alloy, TA's were totally aerodynamic  ;D and were prone to snapping, GT's cracked behind the seatube, VDC where more trouble than they were worth, JMC's cracked all over, Hutch headtubes cracked as did the forkdrop outs, most double top tubebikes cracked somewhere....... shall I go on?

The main downfall of OS bikes, other than the above was the dropouts were made wafer thin! Also they were all to small! BMX bikes should have been bigger sooner. Longer top tubes. I remember getting my FreeAgent Limo in 1990 and it was like sleeping in a double bed on you're own! room to stretch out!

At the end of the day most modern bikes use the the same look because it works. Whether it be a BMX or a road bike. Another reason they all look the same is that they come out of the same factory in Tiawan with different dropouts (although they are somewhat thicker now) and different stickers.

Some are made in the US and are considerably more expensive, but hey you get what you pay for. S&M, Standard blah blah blah

Nice TA, Nick..I too have chrome one/black Tuffs...but the ultimate one is a white one, with white Tuffs.

Sparky24 is right about modern bikes - too similar. Black frame/black wheels/black tyres/crap seat at weird angle/tiny kids bars off a 3 year olds bike - that will do nicely Sir! :LolLolLolLol:

Small bars was sooooo 96. The NS kids all use bars that are as big as 80s bars now
