can i have some winter training advice please
« on: August 05, 2008, 09:28 PM »
I know it is early to be asking....

I was wondering what sort of stuff you do to keep your hand in over the winter?
I have MTB as well as my trusty 20" to use.
Thanks

Tracks still operate over winter, you can't beat being on yer bike even if it's cold. Get down the gym, the only advice i can give there though is make sure you have an mp3 player with your own music on it.  :daumenhoch:

Circuit training and spinning classes for me. Road rides of 16mph average or more for at least an hour are good with friends. Track time on dry days. Just keep really active. :)

I've found a diet stacked towards pukka pies and old speckled hen has worked for me my waste has grown over the years its been hard work but worth it. Also watching a lot of sport on T.V appears to help..................................... :LolLolLolLol:
I might actually build a bike this year instead of just hoarding parts :)

Don't worry, when we go MTB the whole trail stinks of deep heat + at the end we tuck into all manor of pills (the legal kind  :daumenhoch:) to keep the body working.........My thoughts are when the pain out weighs the fun then its time to take up Golf !!!!!!!!!!

Training..........if its fun and gets the heart rate up then its doing you good............but time on the track its so important (I've learnt this very quick !!) a smooth rider is a fast rider !!!!!!!!!!!
I might actually build a bike this year instead of just hoarding parts :)

If a 20 inch wheel helps a mtb"er with skills what does a 16 inch wheel do for a 20 inch  bmx rider?

A need to see the Chiropractor?
on a seperate note i was in the park just riding round with my little neice and it struck me it might be a good spot for the winter....lots of tarmac paths up and downhill of different gradients and tight corners to sprint out of. I could be wrong but i thought it could be a great spot on the bmx or possibly even a fixie
