Ebay.con
« on: July 30, 2008, 04:07 PM »
I just bought a bike off ebay, bidded up to 440 dollars(USA seller), the guy didn't reach his reserve, I was the second highest bidder so he offered it to me second chance, I took him up and sent the money through paypal, next thing I get an email saying he's made a mistake and should never have let it  for so cheap, and asks me for another 300 dollars. I declined and said if he wants to be like that I'll just have my money back, then he offers me a sub standard bike as a replacement which I also declined, he then says I'll put your money back in tomorrow! I get back saying no you can give it back now, he's obviously infront of his computer he's got my money and he's not sending me anything! He's now ignoring my emails, I've left him negative and opened a dispute through paypal, they tell me I will get my money back, but I have to be patient! Is this what some people do when they need a little fast cash, rip someone off on ebay?
Has anyone else experienced this ?

Cheers,

Fraz

If your paypal is linked to your credit card for payment, phone your card provider and ask them to do a chargeback. That overrides ebay, paypal and the piece of $hit seller   :daumenhoch:

if you did the second chance option through ebay rather than an email offer (you did, didnt you???) make sure you report him through ebay as well - then he'll get his arse slapped by them as well.

that sucks big time to take someones money then ask for more....

ebay can be good sometimes (I snagged a bargain brand spanking new complete Intense Mini XL for my lad including shipping to my relatives in NC for just $279 a few weeks ago), but it's shite when you end up dealing with complete tools.  And now they have removed the ability for Sellers to leave negative feedback, it means Buyers can dick people about.

I just sold something on there, didn't hear from the Buyer for 3 days after auction eneded so sent him a PM saying does he want the stuff, if not let me know and I'll leave appropriate feedback.  Got a snotty reply back saying Sellers can't leave negative or neutral feedback anymore so he'll pay soon.  I told him if that was his attitude not to bother then.

in myebay go to items won and there should be drop down window next to the item listing - should give you an option to report seller = itll tell you all you need to know otherwise there is plenty under the help section

I once bought a few pairs of amberwall tyres from the states via ebay - the seller quite clearly had no intention of sending meanything... So I opened an 'item not recieved' dispute through ebay. I also opened apaypal dispute via paypal, which you can do at the same time s your ebay dispute -- so thats two disputes for one transaction basically - and doube the hassle for the seller.
Then, he replied to both diputes with a tracking number, and this effectively made him seem compliant in the eyes of ebay and paypal... until the box arrived and it was one pair of incorrect tyres, not the 4 piats I was waiting for...
so THEN  - i rang paypla dna ebay, and changed it to an ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED dispute, which he couldnt get out of. In the end the twat setn me what Id paid for plus extra tyres, as he realised he couldnt win.
So,dont be afraid to complain mate - get what you deserve.

By the way, its so sh1t that sellers cant leave negative feedback anymore, I know it was done to try and stop 'revenge feedbac', but since this new rule has come in, ive had total twat buyers who dont pay and dont care as they can get away with it now, as theres no wa of shaming them aprt from an unpaid item dispute. Im now not selling on ebay again I dont think, just gonna stick to RAd.
cheers

yeah I think I've been put off buying at least semi expensive items ever again, I have to wait till the 5th to escalate to a claim and he's still not responding, have complained thru both paypal and ebay now and have added that now that he can't be trusted I don't want him sending the bike as I don't expect him to send the right one or he might damage it on purpose even if he does.

The  :Aresehole: has paid the money back today thank fcuk! I couldn't believe it when I saw my paypal balance, just goes to show what can happen though, don't know why he took my money, maybe revenge for me not accepting the eastern dragon he tried to palm me off with instead of the LAF he sold me, just glad he's paid up, thanks for the suggestions everyone.
