Frame/forks ID please
« on: January 12, 2006, 11:32 AM »
Obviously it's a Mongoose, but not sure what model it is. I'm thinking Californian ? ?  Looked too clean to pass up whatever it is.

Cheers

Pretty certain that is a californian Guy but I just compared it to my 83 Expert that I had which supposedly shared the same trimoly frame and whilst everything else is identical if you look closely where the rear upper brake stay tubes meet the seat tube, yours seem to come in pretty central with the top tube whilst mine appear to be slightly higher??! What is the serial no.?

Cheers bud, I thought the same thing about the rear stays. I don't know the serial number, as I haven't received the f/f yet.

Cheers for that ORB, that does look the same as Nosnod's Expert.  So it could still be either a Cali or an Spurt then ?  ???

Guy,
You might have struck lucky there mate... It could well be a Supergoose

Compare it with this...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMX-bicycle-Supergoose-III-Mongoose-Original-82_W0QQitemZ6596178834QQcategoryZ35960QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Now it means that you are going to have to buy more top end bits ;D

its an 82-84 cali

Is that for deffo ? What's the giveaway ?

I'm quite happy if it is a Cali, cos that's what I thought it was, and it was pretty cheap. Like Nos says, it'll be alot cheaper to build up too  ;)

Could be a Cali, definately not a Supergoose though.  The reason being that it has a flat brake bridge with no holes in it, the Supergoose had 2 holes either side of the hole on the brake bridge.

Here is a picture of the rear end of my Cali and you can just see the solid brake bridge.

My 83 Cali had no stand hole behind the BB

Is there any way of telling which frame model  and year you have from the serial number. Its just that I have a supposed cali without the seat tube sticker so in theory could be any model.  :-\

Does anybody have a cali seat tube sticket please :)
