Built this up today.....
« on: July 26, 2008, 05:43 PM »
Was half built over the last month or two but decided to just throw some bits on to finish it.

I am not that satisfied with it for some reason, there are a few little bits that need ironing out. The cranks WONT be staying on there as they are for another build after christmas.

For some reason the power disc seems to slip, on my flights on my other build i inserted some sort of washer in to the disc but for some reason these profiles haven't got that washer, can any one shed any light on this bit ????????????????????

I think black grips may also need to be invested aswell. The repo bar pad is shite but the other ones seem Ok.

For some reason, the bike isn't right at the moment but i can't see why.

Feel free to pick holes as this one has me stumped.

Try and enjoy.

Also do i leave these gold Arayas on or stick on a silver set which still need re-spoking.

I like.  However, i'd change the grips, pedals and seat.  And i'd lose the stem and bar pads.

Looks nice but the seat deserves a fiery death.

Good looking ride  :daumenhoch:

The seat is wrong; needs a blue Kashimax Aero or MX to match the grips but the bar pad is for new school bars and just wrong on an OS bike  ;)

a 19mm axle will need a top hat washer for the spider/disk, pick one up from a good lbs or Alans/Groove/Cyclesport/Custom Rders  :daumenhoch:

Better to crash and burn than fade away

daz bmx it!

The grips are Tommy Brackens signature mushrooms in baby blue and the pedals are Shimano SX.

I also don't think the seat goes ( sorry Steve) but i needed a cheap black one at the time. although now i have bought a black Uni Pro for it.

A number plate will also have to be added i think. crank wise i haven't got the foggiest, like i say these profile on here will go on another bike later on.

EDIT>>>>> Daz, you aint having them back  ;D

A run down of the parts then that are staying.

1984 SE Quadangle with stamped landing gear forks
Araya 7X Rims with gold Suntour hubs.
MCS race bars
Shimano SX pedals
Dyno stem
Dia Compe Hinged seat clamp
Dia Compe MX 1000 with Dia Compe tech4 lever.
Sugino chainring and power disc
Tioga Comp 3 tyres

looks fine to me! I think it maybe the wheels you cannot be sure of, because they are the only thing gold, maybe chrome would have looked  1% better, i am just trying to be picky tho :daumenhoch:
R.I.P  O.M. Far short of the finish line...

My son reckons that aswell, i have some silver here, they just haven't been built yet, i think today i was playing more than anything.  :) :)

It's been stripped again now.  It needs more work, that was by no means the finished article.
