heres some pics of my mrd expert i have been restoring,when i got the frame it was in real bad shape ,to the extent that the bottom inch and a half of the seat tube was rusted away!!!


DRILLING OUT STUCK SEAT POST

RUSTY PART OF SEAT TUBE REMOVED ALONG WITH ORIGINAL BRAZE

NEW LOWER SEAT TUBE REPAIR SECTION

PORTO-POWER USED TO SPREAD FRAME TO INSERT REPAIR SECTION


REPAIR SECTION WELDED AND BRAZED IN



IT WAS A BIT OF A CHALLANGE BUT WELL WORTH SAVING :)

thanks for the kind comments guys :) i will try and answer your questions,kev there is a shoulder on the repair piece this helped to keep it inline when i welded it in....  del i only put a piece in as i couldn't bring myself to remove all that lovely looking braze which rickman had done all those years ago :smitten:....and yes i will be going to mk so will the finished mrd :daumenhoch: :Great_Britain:
