Kev rode brilliantly today & thoroughly deserved his win (first of the season i think?) he was outgating me everytime & although i was all over him like a rash on the track i couldnt find a way to pass cleanly, in one of the motos i got bored following him & did my usual move of jumping past him but he moved across as i was in the air & i had nowhere to land but on him (sort of) & he went down real hard & looked to be hurt but thankfully was ok, then came back to win the final, i did drag race him to the line & there was maybe a wheel in it!  >:(

Masters was a joy to watch, Martin P was in gate 8, Paul Bennett holeshotted everyone then (as usual) backed off at the first turn & ended up in the pack with lots of tyre buzzing going on, Daddy Whyte emerged in the lead & looked to have it but Martin Parker sat behind him in second & didnt panic, while Nigel rode low in the berms to close the door, Martin simply used his head & rode high on the berms & gained more & more speed & simply pulled out on the last straight & flew by to win with a lovely manual across the line.

I thought the track was in pretty good shape really & the crashes are due to the layout & design of the track, mostly where everyone gets funnelled together in the first turn(s), i think its time to change that turn then Dagenham will rank really highly among tracks!

A good day at Dagenham!!  :)

unfortunately BADBMX are unable to do anything about the track design until the council change their stance, they know its a problem but have their hands tied.  at least it has some surface on it now, couple of weeks ago it was looking a bit bare....

always an enjoyable track to race, love the rhythm section, one of the trickier ones on the circuit...

Yeah i heard the council were very strict about no track alterations, shame that. Apart from that turn the track really rocks & yeah have to agree the last straight is cool.

Forgot to mention the oldschool earlier, i think Bernie got a bit of a shock in a few of the motos by how fast you guys go!! & that crash in the last turn was pretty harsh!! Things are hotting up nicely in that class now!! Brilliant to watch!! Keep it up!  ;)

We do aim to entertain.... its nice to have a rabbit to chase once in a while... though his turn of pace was quite noticeable....

I do have to look twice sometimes to see if its masters or oldschool on the track, you guys have got so much faster now!!  1-4 seems to enjoy ghosting his bike more now too! Whats that all about?

Sam Wonfor, and ghosting is letting your bike go on it`s own which Sam did after crossing the finish line in one of his motos  :daumenhoch:
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'

Ahh I C - Sam did that against me at MK couple of weeks ago - it was pure desperation as i just got the draught on him out of the last turn and nipped him on the line.

Didnt see him do it today - personally throwing your bike is just too dam expensive when its an OS bike involved....  also i presume you have to be on it when you cross the line to take the place??

But than thats Sam for you - he does have a little Kamikazi side to him - if you saw the crash you mentioned in the 2nd moto you would have seen the move that caused it... though the great thing about OS racing is I havent seen anyone get upset by any of the moves pulled whatever the outcome...

Rubbin' is Racin....

Had a great time today, track is very very nice, with the usual moan, first corner. Was good to test the stamina on a long track, don't think it was too bad, just a shame about the final. Thinks its time for my 5 year old Reboks to go in the bin!!!!

Sam and Zippy's coming together was very funny, they untangled themselves and then tried untangling there bikes, I had to shout at them to calm down, then Zippy's sprint to the line as his bars were twisted, Sam ghosting his bike at the OS crowd. Then they both had a big man hug :daumenhoch:
Excellent to watch, Marshalling does give different perspective, great watching all the lines in the 1st and last corners and the sprints to the line. Although did see a few people moving across to block others on the last straight :knuppel2:

good day yesterday.pulled my back a bit lifting a speaker at the start of the day and then totally mangled it coming off in my final.few days off for me i think :'(..beat bernie shalle in a moto which i have never done before unless he's fallen off so that was pretty cool.
great to see so many riders who started racing at hersden now riding at regionals and doing so well.just goes to show we must be doing something right. :)
well run meeting, being home by 6.30pm was great.normally 7/8pm at least.wind was a bugger as i wanted to get the 1st straight dialled in but didnt seem to affect the racing.got some proper leg out berm moves done in nearly every race i think.
big up eastkents Issac Lennon.1st race at a regional and came home in 3rd.well done bro. :4_17_5:

My B final (30-39 cruiser) was the most fun I've had in a final, although I would have prefered to be in the A.

Yay 5.5 for me next year, chuffed to bits as its my first season back for 20 odd years.

The First Old School Regional Season is now decided as no-one is doing Bournemouth due to RAD commitments.

Gutted for Gary not getting a plate due to his injury and only racing 4 regionals....

These are the final postions. congrats QuadPaul on the First ever OS Regional No.1

1 PAUL COLEMAN - Quad Paul
2 SIMON BARNES - Zippy
3 DANIEL WONFOR - Nishiki14
4 LEE SAUNDERS - Hooga75
5 SIMON CROUCHER - Crooch
6 STEVE EARL - SE
7 DEAN SANSOM - Diamond Dean
8 IAN POOLE - Eloopnai

No one else qualified

All riders now eligable next year to run their regional placing with .5 for the South Region.... Bring on 2009!!

look forward to seeing you on the gate pickle, and can't wait to get this to a track, just finished putting together

and first time i've set one up

and finally modified new crank to take a 44t, as i bent my crank yesterday, and started to bend chainwheel too

no holes in the forks though, don't know how i'll get on without front brake

well done to all the riders with regional rankings, roll on the next race, and a new pair of trainers!!!
sorry pictures are poor, cameras getting past it sell by date.

Clips just aint the thing for 40+ or am I completely off track here?

I'd hate to see us old men clipping in.

Be a sad day when I see someone clipping in for the 40+, I'll prob go back to old school if that happens regularly.

A couple of years ago I would've agreed with you Paul, but my stance on clips has mellowed and I don't really give a toss whether other people use them anymore.  I've even thought about doing a practice session clipped in to see what my first straight is like in them, but have resisted temptation so far cos clipping in once is a bit like bumming another man once - even if you don't like it and never do it again, you're still a bit gay for trying it.

Looks like the 40+ cruiser title is going down to the wire with Jon Moore just 2 points ahead of Keith Wilson.

Jon will have home track advantage at Bournemouth, but I'm sure Keith will fight to the end (if he's going to B'mouth that is).

Keith said he was going to MK, but dunno if that still stands.

It's funny the way the point go, cos it's only your top 5 posistions that score, when you get near the top you really have to do a lot to change them.

I thought it would be possible to catch you up, but there's no way cos I'd drop my lowest score if I did well, then replace this with the new higher score, would only make a few points diifference anyway.

Sure it's even tighter for the very top fellas.
