Flush bolt stuck !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep stuck tight.

It's on the profile arm that doesn't have the chain ring (non drive )

I've taken the crank in to work this afternoon and stuck the spindle in a vice, inserted the alun key and put a extension bar on to the key, pushed hard and the alun key just twisted    . I have also sprayed a shed load of oil on to it but still stuck.

Is this really a problem as the cranks have been remove initially, e.g if i was to re fit them i could just poke them through the bottom bracket and plonk the the arm on. Job done.

i think you've answered your own question mate, i had the same problem on one of my old cranks and as it's not the drive side i didn't worry about it 

just leave as is as long as the axle is fine then just leave it

hold the arm and tap the axle thru a tad with a copper hammer
then ya can get somit to undo bolt then

i think you've answered your own question mate, i had the same problem on one of my old cranks and as it's not the drive side i didn't worry about it

Try a good squirt of GT85/WD40-also a good quality allen key! I had the same prob on Saturday with my sons GT crankset!

Just tried this, i managed to get some mole grips on but the silver washer  turned rather than the bolt itself. I reckon i'm just gonna leave it before i launch it out of the garden.

The arm certainly moved down the spindle to leave some of the bolt protruding but when i squeezed the mole grips on to turn it, it was only the washer that went around, not the bolt.
Even if i did manage to remove the stuck bolt i reckon might next problem would be trying to get the arm off of the spindle.

ya should be able to push the washer down
once bolt is off use the profile tool to push axle back thru arm

Will try again tomorrow with a clear head, i haven't  got a profile tool, looks like another job for a hammer.

You could,
hacksaw off a stumpy length of allen key, then use a socket and ratchet to try and undo the bolt.
Its less twisty than an allen key on its own, and therefore more leverage.

or just get a socket allen key i may have a spare i could post to ya but you would need the socket bit tho

Hardened allen key, socket stylee and a good impact driver should get the job done

If you've rounded the allen head get a Torx driver and hammer it in and use that.  Also, try soaking the axle and the bolt in diesel for a couple of days

Right the crank is now fitted apart from the flush bolt on the chainring side as it's in the post.

Problem now is.................. How the hell do i get the chainring side back off if i wanted to remove it all. I greased the spline before i fitted it but i cant remove it now as its well tight.

Profile do a removal tool, you just screw it into the centre of the spindle and tap it out.

I f you can't be bothered to get one of those use a 'chunky socket' that will sit nicely onto the end of the spindle and tap it out that way
