Oh and Donovin Ritter makes a special appearance on Mike D's Myspace page.
 :daumenhoch:
http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=68960522

If anybody has spent any time with Fiola they would know where Donovan was coming from here.

that is the first time I have heard somebody talk the truth about fiola. Fiola told me the Donovan story but not the way Donovan told it and now it makes sense. Fiola was a small minded ego maniac and hated anybody that was better than him and there were quite a few that he had it in for.

He even started a fight with Dave Breed who was a very nice bloke and about 6'2 and Dave just pushed him away and said grow up.

He started on Glynn Lewis when we went out for a meal and he exploded on me for nothing and I nearly killed him  (ask djbenice). It is sad but a man who was so many peoples hero was a complete c0ck. I think he may have had an altitude problem.

I hear you Andy - all starts to make sense after reading Donovans story. I alwayswondered why he won so many times when he obviously wasn't the best on the day.
I would have liked to see him pick on Glyn! I've seen Glyn take someone out and it wasn't pretty! Fiola would have been toast!
Hero to zero.

you're a legend gary. absolutely superb pics. i'm gonna have to try a few more obscure names and see if you can rise to the challenge.

i don't think i've seen a single pic of denton since the last time i saw him about 18 years ago.
i got to know denton through gareth swan, who's house i stayed at a few times. i remember in my very early days of competing i stayed at swanny's house for a week before a comp. i rode everyday with swanny and denton. it done me the world of good and really helped me progress. both of them were excellent riders.

gary, do you have any pics of swanny? i know denny has some.

i can see phil bevan and karl denton. rode with phil loads at cardiff warehouse 1986-1988, penarth rd warehouse 1989 and then phils halfpipe in mynachdy, cardff 1989- 1990. phil actually took some of us welsh lads for our first beer at 15 years old in merthyr (nite before merthyr open comp). walked thru the pub with our bmx's
(phil, me, evo, tomo, swanny, nipper, jon cole- andy reardon and swannys dad were already there playing pool) and the landlord said to leave em in the toilets. had me first cider and a ride thru the mental hospital at midnite. more malarky from bevan and his mates than i care to tell but was a fun nite.  ;)

I remember reminding Larry of his first magazine picture when we were on the bus between world's venues in 86 or 87..............prize for anyone that digs that out of the archives............needless to say it was before he (and we) realised his talents ;-)
