RIDE MAGAZINE Issue # 1
« on: July 10, 2008, 01:39 PM »

Thought youd enjoy a couple of scans from my knackered issue 1 of Ride - I just found it again!
Rob Ridge on a Mongoose Hooligan

Tim Ruck's TRUCK Wheel conversion - Harris, you should do a set of these for your wheel collection!

I wish I could travel back in time to buy from the Deals page

and from cyclesort! MRD's! Im mailing this to my mate Dan who runs their mail order today - he's v intrigued to see it!

Check out those Blast pegs, threaded for tuffs/coaster one end and spokes t'other. Proof, if needed, George didn't have the jump on ALL the best part ideas, ha ha!

I'm really confused though, Alan's aren't listed in the dealers? And they've been doing BMX since '81, haven't they? Haven't they?  ::)

Alans BMX have been going 25 years .... Ive seen it on their stickers! I wonder when they will bring out the "25 years of Alans Records" stickers, or will they change its name to "Alans CDs"?

Is that cover shot taken from 'Ride On'?  I can't remember the name of the bloke riding the bike, but I'm sure he made the forks and spider for that bike ???

Yeah, Chad Herrington - used to do tons of variations, mostly on a 'step up' jump -  when he came over for a Backyard Jam, he couldnt ride the rythm... too much of an older chool jumper.. people really bagged on him after that, but i still think he's rad!
And Gary, you are listed in the contents page of this very mag as one of the main contributors to the magazine!!!

What? You mean Alan has had a skate shop running for 25 years as well? Man, he must be busy, running AlansBMX/AlansSkates/AlansRecords, all for 25 years  ;D

Hmmmm......I wonder what that was for.
I'd done a few write ups and photos for 'em over the years, but can't remember if i did anything for this issue. Must look that one out and find out!
