stem from the 80s help
« on: July 09, 2008, 07:31 PM »
in 1984 but think 1985 i was given a stem to test one summer for about a month
it was from what i remember a suntour ????? it was a graphite stem that they needed
ridden before it went on sale  well it snapped clean as it had flaws in the graphite
and i mashed my right wrist badly as the stem bolt went into it and ruptured it.
did they ever get made is my queston   i think they did but havent rearly ever seen one for sale.

it was someone through my sponsor i think we did test all sorts of bits even acorn mags   :crazy2:
i even busted catalogue bikes to see if they would take some beating as for warranty to see the bad bits
but not actually sure who it was that asked for it to be tried.
it busted right at the bolt after a few days from what i remember and almost certain it was suntour.
