Profiles and a Ti spindle!
« on: July 05, 2008, 08:09 PM »
Ive just regreased my cranks and fitted a ti spindle and flush mount kit.
When i put the arms back on i didnt even need the special tool to get them on the spindle, they just pushed on!! Does this sound right?
They were a lot tighter fitting with the cromo spindle.
Help, i plan to start riding again on wednesday (after a broken leg) so obviously i want the bike to be spot on.

Cheers peeps

Sean.

How old are the arms? They do get slightly easier over time.

Hmmm, they aint new i know that much!

I'm just concerned about there integrity, dont want the spindle or arms shearing on me mid run.
Dont know wether to put the cromo spindle back in as that fitted very snuggly?

Help  :-\

Well if it's any consolation i've seen the bosses at either end snap many times, i've also seen them snap halfway up the arm but i've never seen the splines shear off!!

I got some well used profiles with Ti axle off mcnulty about a year ago and thay had the same senario-loose ish arms and no tool required to install, they are finer than a fine thing , I used Ti flush bolts for a while but they were shit as they kept coming undone (could be Ti on Ti combined with looser arm splines  :-\) . Even superglue didn't hold em in  :LolLolLolLol: swapped back to cromo flush bolts and all is well and has been since. Deffo no issues relating to the loose fit when installing though. Hope this helps  :daumenhoch:
