Installing a headset

how do you get the BB cups on, the way i can see is to wack it with a hammer, but i don't want to, any suggestions

A bit of grease and a gentle tap with a hammer, cover the cups with a tea towel so you dont mark em... then let the mrs wonder why there are round marks on the tea towel...

there are a few ways to do it, the official route probably being the headset press tool...then theres the vice method & also whacking it with a hammer     cover the cups with a piece of wood to protect them if you use the hammer or vice method 
i'm sure there are other methods others will know..

I didnt notice that either, but the thread title is installing a headset, think JT may have found the problem...

I use a rubber mallet, makes life a little easier.

by the time you have pee'd about with a rubber mallet and failed, you will be frantically rumaging through your toolbox for the biggest sledge hammer you can find, then taking a overhead stance leaning your body back as much as you can, you will be taking a fook it i dont care anymore approach. as i often do

Grease the cups place against the headtube top and bottom .

Piece of wood on each cup and a G-clamp ...slowly tighten the G-clamp and ........... it works for me.

ha ha i like the sledge hammer approach,
creep up while the cups arent looking and BANG in they go
