HELP NEEDED HOW TO REMOVE A REDLINE SEALED BB PLEASE.
« on: June 11, 2008, 07:28 PM »
Right I need some help please I've got a nice Kuwahara Frame that has a Redline Sealed Bearing Bottom Bracket still in it from the previous owner. It's a BB from some Twin Pinch Flites question is how do I get it out without buggering my Frame up.

Is there some sort of tool that would do this?

Any help would be great thanks bodamus :daumenhoch:

Ian

I used the same method of Lazychubs but with a piece of dowel. Had a bit of trouble knocking the spacer to the side first.

knock the spindle out if its still in, and i just put a massive screwdriver through the whole ( must be a biggy, as it needs to be broad enough in its head to not dent into the bearing)

make sure its on right on the edge of the bearing so as to not puncture it, and knock it out with a big hammer...

unless the frame is particularly fragile, it will be fine...

the bearing is taking the beating, and not the frame see. :daumenhoch:

if your not using the bearing, dont even bother about being on its edge, just make sure the screwy is against it and give it a mighty wack.

job done. :daumenhoch:

try the socket extensien route before you go for the 'big driver' that way you may save the bearings - though if they are redline ones they are shite anyway...
