Have I missed something or has there been a dry up of Old School parts over the last year? Since monitoring Ebay week in week out over the last year, there seems to be a definate lack of parts available compared to previous months. Im talking about decent headsets, bottom brackets, skyway pads - just small but important bits you know?

Or is it something that builds up more towards the summer months?

Think the nos stuff is drying up a bit. Shiners dont seem to have much and as a consequence neither do the web shops that we all know and love. Then theres all the hoarding that goes on, me included

True, ebay ain't always the way to go... sometimes restoration of a part is more rewarding and you get a better finish as some nos parts may have storage marks etc...

I tend to ask more on here now instead of hunting around as you know that you can trust peeps on here etc.. as i've been ripped off on ebay too and it happens a lot. Much rather as on here if you need something  ;)

what 400 +  actice collectors ? maybe more

the fact that we have all built bikes and keep them built means that everything ha been used , private collectors stashes only now it seems, as shiners is left with very little in any numbers.

if everyone who collects builds a bike this year , then 400 plus headsets are needed etc etc

it soon dissapears

i think there is alot of kit out there but people are hanging onto it all now as the prices seem to be dropping. Anyone who bought at the top of the market is hanging onto there stuff so they dont loose money and anyone who has old stock for years is hanging on as well knowing that prices have been higher than thay are now. Stalemate. Untill the market picks up i dont think you will see alot of NOS about.

Just my opinion :-\

Totally agree with you mate... plus something that you want may not be available right away, so patience is needed also, especially with gaybay!
