mongoose pro class 24
« on: June 11, 2008, 09:32 AM »

now here's the thing, i've bought myself a pro class 24 and was thinking of getting it powdered.as you know there is a mongoose badge on the head tube which is rivetted on, taking it off is not the problem but how can i re-attatch it without useing screws  so to keep a factory look. (i know they only came in chrome so powdering the frame will not be a factory finish, but you know what i am getting at...hopefully!)
any help from you mongoose gurus would be appreciated.
thanks in advance.

theres a guy on ebay that sells the headbadge rivets now and again for Old Geezers that restore their old Raleigh Team Frames from the 70's and 80's where the Raleigh badge was a brass embossed thing, obviously when they have a refinish they need to remove and reattach a super splendid badge. Read somewhere they glue them on and tap rivets into holes gently so as not to flatten the domes, then hey presto good as new..

do a search for raleigh head badge or headbadge rivet rivets etc and he lists them every now and then,or check out yer local hardware place and match the rivets yourself..  :daumenhoch:
