:) Seat/post combos never went away, been used on minis forever! Diamondback already did a prototype disc brake equipped racebike about 5 years ago. They`d get bent to death on a freestyle bike!

Probably start seeing more experimentation with race bikes after the Olympics.  Ridiculously low weights (but at a price and with limited life spans).  More carbon parts.  Race bikes that have more in common with track bikes than BMX bikes.  All good for the pros/sponsored riders, but out of reach for the majority of Joe Public.

Heywood....i think the disc will be in the middle of the hub, thus out of reach of legs/ground?  you could run the hydrolic cable through the axel/hub body??  just a thought though  ???

J.T.....  yeah you're probably right there mate!  :2funny:

Alex......if i could do a quarter of what you pull off on that bike i'd be the happiest man alive!

Hydraulic gyro's are already out there, Eclat have plastic seat/post combo's, UNI are also making a comeback.
Like the idea of a freewheeling sprocket, they are using those on some trials bike's I think.
GT have BMX out with twin downtubes.

:) Pickle:How would you get a hydraulic hose/cable to the centre of the hub? Not trying to shoot you down, but you`ll be rich if you sus that out!

i think it's do'able mate.....anything is possible!  i wouldn't of thought they could do a hydrolic gyro but they have!

the hub body would hold both the disc (would abviously need a wheel rebiuld if you need to change though) and also have the caliper mount which would 'float' on the inside of the hub as well.....then the hydrolic cable would run through a hollow axel and up through the hub section (which wouldn't spin of course) and up to the caliper??  i know it sounds imposible but i'm sure someone will work it out??   ;)

Ive seen those freewheeling sprockets, I dont get it at all? Why would you want your chain and chainring spinning when you are rolling along without pedling? What about doing an air with the chain still spinning away? USELESS!

Good point Mike. I think I like them now!
They'd look even better with a 44 tooth chainring!  8)

itl all start going around again

bikes will get more colourfull

the race stuff will get used on the street

oops its broken , better make it stronger  ;D

trials bikes have a continuous freewheel because when they are hopping around on the rear wheel and about to release the brake/put all your weight on the pedal for a gap the last thing you want is to find you chain has come off . so the clicking lets you know your ready to go . it also keeps the weight in the centre of the bike so makes it easier to throw around

ive given it a lot of pondering but to keep a sensible gearing with the largest freewheel being an 18t the rear would be a 7 or even a 6 and its hard enough getting a chain to go around an 8  ;D

big bars will come back in i think . id love to try some 9" , i have my stem flipped and stacked and it feels great for it

im sure someone will twig there is a market for tubless tyres and rims  ::)

atomlab makes a hydraulic gyro , but bmx doesnt need discs . although ive seen a few maguras on bmx

maybe someone will give a fixed chainstay and eccentric bottombracket a go

am i right in thinking animal has made a rim with no braking surface ? im sure ive seen that

the tech end might give thermoplastics a go in levers and seatclamps , maybe even barends

different optioned durometer rated tyres

someones bound to rip off greg melms seatclamp idea  :(

ooh , fluted tubed forks and ive always had a press in alloy steerer tube in the back of my mind

http://www.carbondrivesystems.com/ although i dont think were ready for the idea of splitting our stays  :-\

edit - i always used to use spokey dokes but my mates kept telling me they thought parts were falling off  ;D but ive found they can be pressed onto the nipple well enough  :)

:) Stidds:That is stunning, but I know nothing about Fetish.Tell me more?  Atomlab brought out a disc brake for BMX a few years back, that went on the unused side of a flip-flop hub...

You shall have a 24" wheel rammed where the sun don`t shine (and I don`t mean Manchester) for even thinking that!
