Help needed to restore Champ's bike...
« on: June 05, 2008, 06:24 PM »
Guys,
I've been given the task of restoring a former Scottish Champ's old championship winning bike.  The bike belongs to Allister Stewart who was a Scottish No.1 in the 14s/15s around 1981-82.  The bike is a Falcon Aero and Ali wants to keep the bike as close to the original colour scheme as possible (chrome/red) but with some added bling like original 401's etc.  I've typed out a rough 'wish list' in the 'Wanted' section so your help would be much appreciated in getting this classic bike back up to A1 condition.  Ali hopes to have it done ASAP so he can hit up some of the summer races.  Here's a pic of how it looks just now....

Kenny try and old coca cola and foil trick once you've stripped it and lots of autosol, should come up a treat!  :daumenhoch:

Also list out the parts you need and i'm sure we can all have a rummage  :D

I'm going to try and pick the bike up over the weekend.  If the parts don't clean up then Ali wants me to get the frame/forks/bars rechromed.  He's not bothered if anything needs replaced apart from the a few bits he wants to keep - original seatclamp, Oakley grips and brake lever which Ali made himself.  Wish list is posted in the 'Wanted' section but always open to suggestions to make this bike rock!  ;)
