Raleigh Ultra Burner & Araya rim question

After a weekend at my parents I managed to get my brother to agree to give me his old Ultra Burner that was standing in my parent's garage...the frame itself won't be any good to me, but there are some nice parts that I'm going to look at restoring. I've had a quick gander at the rims, if memory serves they are Araya - does anyone remember what model rims were fitted to the Ultra Burner please?

Whilst I'm on - any tips for restoring old alloy rims - the rims on the bike have a lot of brake rub on the sides and the annodising is nearly gone. I was thinking of making these shiny sides retaining the blue on the top of the rim - I guess I need to strip and polish the sides, any ideas on what the best way is to do this please?

for striping the sides of the rims yer best bet is wet n dry sand paper , try p600 wet with just a small splodge of washinup liquid in water then use p800/1000 then yer ready to polish with autosol
