Dislocation: First aid
A dislocation is an injury in which the ends of your bones are forced from their normal positions. The cause is usually trauma, such as a blow or fall, but dislocation can be caused by an underlying disease, such as rheumatoid arthritis.

Dislocations are common injuries in contact sports, such as BMX    football and hockey, and in sports that may involve falls, such as downhill skiing and volleyball. Dislocations may occur in major joints, such as your shoulder, hip, knee, elbow or ankle or in smaller joints, such as your finger, thumb or toe.

The injury will temporarily deform and immobilize your joint and may result in sudden and severe pain and swelling. A dislocation requires prompt medical attention to return your bones to their proper positions.

If you believe you have dislocated a joint:

Don't delay medical care. Get medical help immediately.
Don't move the joint. Until you receive help, splint the affected joint into its fixed position. Don't try to move a dislocated joint or force it back into place. This can damage the joint and its surrounding muscles, ligaments, nerves or blood vessels.
Put ice on the injured joint. This can help reduce swelling by controlling internal bleeding and the buildup of fluids in and around the injured joint.

I dislocated my collarbone in February, i now have a permanent dislocation for the rest of my life.

Initially it took six weeks to get over it although i did break it aswell but it doesn't seem to cause problems anymore as all the ligaments have grown around it. I have a nice lump sticking out now from where the C/bone has disjointed from the breast bone.

I dislocated my shoulder at Corby Aug last year... worst pain i have ever experienced in my life!!!

i know dan was not picking on your boy in the slightest, im 100% positive it was meant as a fun dig at religion in general, check out most of dans posts and see where he is coming from, harmless, and usually spot on funny observations, they are not malicous in any, i am usually on the recieving end of them myself.

I've got no issues with the banter that goes on whithin the site and everyone is completely entitled to have their own views on religion etc, i'm sure had you read the unmoderated thread where this was the first reply, and also seen that Dan Dare didn't even have the courtesy to reply to my message which was also moderated (but purely asking what he meant) then you may have thought differently.

If i post something which has offended peeps i am always ready to apologise, he knew his post was not received kindly by either myself or Tony and i think would be more than aware of how it would upset my son who put over a year of work into achieving what he has.

I did not ask for the post to be moderated but i'm glad it was, Josh would have been really upset by it and all of the lovely replies he had received would have paled into insignificance in comparison.

A simple apology would have sufficed, even those who didn't understand/follow religion wrote courteous replies, as i've said before if you don't like a thread rather than offend dont reply

As i said in my post this upset both of us, thankfully the moderated thread is what we included in his Communion memory book (where the replies to the post were intended to go) thankfully Josh can look back on it in years to come with positive memories and feedback to his achievement.

The problem with posting on this site, or any site, is that the meaning can not be conveyed in the context it is meant and misinterpretation is a popular consiquence of this, hence all the crap thats been happening between members over the last month etc, i intended to reply to quite a few things recently then think better of it for this exact reason
