Cheers Marty :daumenhoch:

I knew there wasn't too many of these still around, that's why i kept it so long (even if it was just sittin about), but after getting on this site and talking to you guy's, the only thing to do is restore it.
I loved it then and love it now! So where can i take it for a bath??

Good man   :4_17_5: .

You can order Oxalic acid on the internet, it's not really an acid in the same sense as sulphuric acid but you need to be sensible about how you use it i.e. plenty of ventilation and the like.  Either make up or buy a plasterers bath and mix up the solution as it says on the bottle, the stronger the mix the quicker it works.  Strip the bike down and pop the frame and forks, bearing cups and anything else chrome plated into it and leave for a few days, but checking regularly.  Then when all the rust has lifted take it out, clean it off and start polishing it up  :daumenhoch:.

You could also try the coca cola and foil trick, have a look in the Tech and Restoration Stickies section for more details of how to bring it up like new...  http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php?board=32.0

Can't wait to see photo's of your progress  ;).

Marty

got my ace frame frome a shop in se london in spring 82 for the sum of £35 i think the ace shop must have been shut by then.
every time i jumped it at rom the rear end would bend and i would have to kick it straight!!
i swopped it in nov 82 for a set of 185mm flight cranks that i put on my new white looptail ripper and have never seen one since.
