11k is what it cost them!  but i agree it is a tad on the tight side to be of any use.

11k????????  Jesus.........   they got turned over.

All skateparks have a dilemma.  They need to cater for pros, wobblers, very young kids and wannabes..  Virtually every skatepark in this country simply isn't big enough to cater for everyone. And if you could find a building big enough, you could never afford to run it.

If you build flow into a park, you rule out most wobblers and young kids. You also introduce collision lines a lot of the time.  Keep the park linear and segregated and you alienate the pros and the wannabes.

It's a tricky one.   Creation is big enough to mix and match though, so it could be turned around.

BUT

it would need some money thrown at it, and that in itself is more than likely a problem.

Rob

I tend to agree about the flow but at the moment even the wobblers struggle to get some lines.  What they need more than anything is an experienced rider and park builder to give them some help about park design at no cost; hint, hint  ;).

LOL......

Hell, they can rent the whole thing to me and I'll take it on if the price is right    ;)

But, as I said, it needs money thrown at it, which has just been confirmed by Philbert. He's looking at a completely new park - a relaunch almost. It probably needs that if it's gonna survive.  A park that size could consume £30k of timber without breaking a sweat....

Marty....

In the Car world there is a saying....

" You can live in a car, but you cannot drive a house "

So... following the same methodology....

" You can live in a skate park but you cant ride in a house "

There used to a nice beginners section next to the big vert a few years ago, I think the first Rad meet there back in 06 there was plenty of riding space between some decent ramps.

I ain't no skatepark expert so don't know how it rates, but just appears all squashed up now compared to a couple of years ago.

Hope the park can still continue though, perhaps it should have council or lottery funding to assist?
